VMC Operator

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and machining strategies.

• Optimize cycle times while ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish

• Monitor the performance of machines and processes, making adjustment as necessary

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations

• Load raw materials and ensure proper alignment and tooling before machining begins.

• Monitor machine operations during production runs to ensure quality and consistency.

• Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.

• Make minor adjustments to machine programs and settings to improve quality and efficiency.

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Document production logs and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors

JOB SPECIFICATION (SKILLS / QUALITIES/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB)

• I.T.I or equivalent; technical certification is a plus..

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating VMC machines in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.

• Strong knowledge of machine, tooling and setup procedures.

• Familiarity with quality control standards and measuring instruments.

• Basic understanding of G-code and M-code programming (preferred but not mandatory).

• Good attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
